Apple To Repair Faulty 2018 MacBook Air Logic Boards For Free
If your 2018 MacBook Air isn’t turning on, then Apple could have a solution to the problem. The company recently found that “a very small number” of MacBook Air laptops suffer an issue with their logic boards. To this effect, reports say that Apple will replace the components for free.
This report comes nearly two weeks after Apple issued a public recall for older 15-inch MacBook Pros over a potential fire risk.
The 9to5Mac site reveals that certain 13-inch Retina screen 2018 MacBook Air models have an issue with their logic boards. Faulty logic boards could prevent the computer from powering on.
However, the documentation reportedly only says that the issue relates to power. The site also found that some users have complained about their devices not turning on.
The company reportedly knows which serial numbers the issue affected. That way, Apple will send emails to customers of affected devices concerning this matter. The email will direct them to take their faulty devices to the nearest Apple store or an authorised service centre available for inspection.
If there is an issue found by Apple’s personnel, the company will replace the logic board for free for four years after the device’s original purchase date.
