A new patent based on Tim Cook company’s innovation will reportedly make MacBooks faster. Apple is apparently looking for ways to make top-performing MacBooks perform even faster than they already are.

According to the patent identified Forbes, Apple is looking to give MacBooks in sleep mode the ability to detect if there is someone in front of it. In the patent titled, Presence Sensing, the device will be able to tell if the person in front of it is its owner or not. If it notices that the person is its owner, it will come to life without the user pressing anything.

The device will also use Face ID to detect when a person is nearby. Furthermore, it will use the same feature to determine whether it is the owner standing there or not. The device will stay in sleep mode if it detects that the person in front of it is not its owner.

The feature is very similar to the Power Nap feature.

It allows Mac devices to continue processing tasks in the background. This includes things like calendar, photos, notes and others while the laptop is sleeping. This would allow the MacBook to continue working and also be ready for work when the user wakes the computer up.

Meanwhile, the Presence Sensing feature will be able to detect if the owner is approaching the device. It will wake the device up after confirming that it is the owner. The Macbook is pretty much going to be ready for the user as they sit on their computers.

It is important to keep in mind though that the idea is still in the patent mode for MacBooks. However, the feature is already working on iPhones and iPad Pro devices. However, the 16-inch MacBook Pro will launch ater in 2019. This new 15-inch MacBook Pro will also have ninth-gen Intel processors and a new keyboard.
