Apple Reinstates Mandatory Face Mask Wearing At All Its US Retail Stores

Tech company Apple has reinstated face mask-wearing in all its US retail stores after a recent Covid-19 outbreak in its Texas store. The company previously required only employees to wear masks, while customers didn’t have to. However, it later reinstated face masks after the huge outbreak the following month in July. Apple has reportedly temporarily closed its Southlake Texas retail store after reports of the Covid-19 outbreak. News Outlet NBC Says 22 staff have tested positive for the global virus, and precisely 4 staff had the virus shortly after Back Friday. Unvaccinated workers need to test twice weekly, while Vaccinated workers test once weekly. Apple is constantly monitoring local health data in determining the stores that it will reopen or reclose. All the reopened stores also require that staff and customers wear masks. Last month in November saw a relaxation of face masks in Apple stores, but the recent emergence of the Omicron variant has made the situation worse. Apple now insists on face mask-wearing at all its retail stores, despite the surge in boosters shots.
