Apple Promises To Fix Your Watch If The watchOS 7.3.1 Update Won’t

Apple released the latest watchOS update on Monday, 15th February 2021, watchOS 7.3.1. The update is attempting to help fix an issue that stops some Apple Watch Series 5 or SE smartwatches from charging while in the battery-saving Power Reserve Mode.

 

Apple is also assuring users that it would repair your watch for free even if the watchOS 7.3.1 doesn’t fix the issue.

“A very small number of customers with Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE models running watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 have experienced an issue with their watch not charging after it enters Power Reserve,” Apple said in a support document.

The company also advises that after installing the update, if your Apple Watch still won’t charge after plugging it into a charger for at least 30 minutes, that you contact Apple Support to set up a free mail-in repair. Apple will however have to first inspect your watch to “verify that it’s eligible for free repair.”

 

“Apple has released watchOS 7.3.1, which prevents this issue from happening to other Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE devices. Update your Apple Watch to get all the latest bug fixes and security enhancements,” the company said.

 

You can download the update using the Apple Watch app on your iPhone by going to General > Software Update. You’ll need the Apple Watch to have at least To install the new software. The Watch also needs to have at least 50 percent battery, be placed on a charger, and be in the range of the ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌‌‌‌. The watchOS 7.3.1 update is only available for the Apple Watch Series 5 and the Apple Watch SE.
