Apple removes mask requirements while Twitter announces opening offices

Apple is dropping mask requirements for vaccinated corporate staff, while Twitter announced that it is opening offices on 15 March 2022.

It appears that we all never work remotely, but the pandemic left its mark.

Apple is yet to reopen its offices fully, but several employees are back in a hybrid system. In its most recent pandemic-related announcement, the company said that vaccinated corporate employees would not have to wear masks in the office if they are in a location where local indoor-mask policies have been lifted. It added that retail workers in some locations would also choose to wear or not wear masks.

Meanwhile, in related news, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal announced that the company would be opening offices fully and resuming business travels on 15 March. Although the offices will be open, Agrawal says that employees are free to choose where they feel most productive and creative.

The iPhone makers had planned to fully open offices on 1 February but postponed it in December 2021. At the time, it had proposed a hybrid system that would include one or two days in the office every week and then a three-day format.

Agrawal’s freedom of choice announcement respects what Twitter’s former boss Jack Dorsey had promised employees. However, parts of the announcement hint at the benefits of working at the office and betrays his preference.
