Apple Begins Hiring In India As It Prepares For First Physical Stores

Apple has begun hiring in India in preparation for its first set of physical stores in the country. According to reports, the iPhone maker is looking to start erecting stores in cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Although, as we have come to expect, Apple is not making any official statement yet. However, watchers spotted the job postings online that further confirms the news.

India Today reported that the company was looking for everything from technical specialists, store leaders, specialists, managers, business experts, to creative managers. It also listed roles for genius, who typically answer all questions customers have regarding product technical issues.

Part of the requirements to join Apple India team will be working 40 hours every week and the ability to speak local languages fluently, apart from English.

While the reports are just surfacing, the job postings have been on the company’s website since October 2022. Some new ones were added today, January 9, 2023, which is likely why it got so much attention.

Some LinkedIn users have also begun updating their profiles to reflect their roles at Apple retail store in India, although none of the physical stores have officially opened.

The 2-trillion-dollar company is building a 22,000-square-foot store in Mumbai and a 12,000-square-foot store in New Dehli. Besides the stores, Apple has tapped India as its secondary production location in order to reduce its dependence on China and its COVID-19 challenges.

Apple is hosting an in-person Today at Apple session at the India Art Fair in New Delhi in February 2023. At the event, three resident artists will showcase artwork that they made on the latest M2-powered iPad Pro models.
