This adds more functionality than the Magsafe iPhone cases, giving you some extra juice when your phone battery is down. According to Apple, this battery pack charges up to 5W, a really slow way of charging your phone.

But can be increased to 15W wireless charging when you plug your lightning cable into it.

Apple says your iPhone battery will need a software update in order to be compatible with this MagSafe battery pack. To make sure your iPhone is MagSafe-compatible, you need to be running iOS 14.7 or later.

The battery software update should be out before the MagSafe Battery Pack’s earliest delivery date.
