Apple is adjusting iPhone 14 production goals to realistic lower demands

Apple is cutting down on iPhone 14 production after new demand realities show that not everyone wants the device, at least, not yet.

Bloomberg report mentions that the trillion-dollar company had been looking to surpass its last year iPhone production by more than 6 million units. However, it now has plans to cut back on the number of units it is making.

One report even claimed that the company had ordered its third-party manufacturer, Foxconn, to take down its iPhone 14 production line.

By all indications, it appears that more people are interested in getting the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max variants, instead of the vanilla version. Likely, this is because while the higher-end lineups got significant upgrades and redesigns, the iPhone 14 is just a rung up from iPhone 13.

In light of the demands, while it is reducing its hand on the regular iPhone 14 front, Apple is increasing production in its other variants.

The company recently began making iPhone 14 in India this week to service its local market in the country and reduce its reliance on Chinese-based factories. ITs plan is to have 25% of its total manufacturing power in India by 2025.

Although, for now, the Indian manufactures have a mandate of making about 1 million units of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus devices every month. Their deliverables may change in the coming months to match Apple’s ambitions.
