Andy Cohen Tests Positive For Coronavirus As Malaria Treatment Shows Promise

Television and radio host Andy Cohen has tested positive for the coronavirus, Covid-19, as malaria treatment using Chloroquine continues to show some promise.

 

In an Instagram post, Cohen announced his illness to the world. He said:

 

“After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus. As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.”

Andy Cohen who hosts the show “Watch What Happens Live” has now said he would not be hosting the show from home until he recovers. He further commended health workers as the other part of his post reads:

 

“I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves.”

 

This news comes after the resurgence of Chloroquine being the solution coronavirus patients.

Is malaria treatment cure for Coronavirus?

Earlier this week, US President, Donald Trump had mentioned that the Chloroquine, the drug used in malaria treatment, had been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

However, hours later, the FDA denied this. Now, according to Local 12, a specialist is saying that the malaria treatment drug really helps coronavirus patients. The infectious disease specialist Dr. Stephen Blatt had said: “it shows promise because it shuts down the virus’ ability to reproduce itself.”

Also while the FDA had denied approving the drug, they acknowledge that it is part of the treatment procedure they are testing. Can malaria treatment really be the cure we are looking for? That remains to be seen.
