Instagram is rolling out a new feature that enables users to find content from their favourite content creators and the app is calling it “Guides”. Guides is meant to emphasise “wellness” amid the coronavirus pandemic, it announced in a blog post.
The feature is targeted at making wellness content easy to find and Instagram will allow content creators, nonprofits and other organizations to create new article-like posts that include photos, videos, and text, into a single “Guide.” Instagram adds that the Guides will start to appear in the Explore tab in the next few days.
Instagrams initial launch partners are organizations with their focus on local communities and mental health. It will also partner with some publishers, like BuzzFeed and Refinery29.
At the moment, Instagram’s ‘Guides’ feature is available to limited wellness influencers like Deepika Padukone (@deepikapadukone), Sudahdong NGO (@SudahDong), Klicksafe (@klicksafe), and Eenfance NGO (@eenfance).
The feature is now available for both the Android and iOS versions of the app and users in India. However, the ‘Guides’ tab is not yet available on the Web version of Instagram.
