South African rapper AKA has called out African Giant Burna Boy to tender an apology before coming to South Africa. This comes after the Tshwane Entertainment Collective petitioned the South African Ministry of Arts and Culture.

The petition is to exclude Burna Boy from performing at the Africans Unite Concert.

AKA took to his Twitter page on Wednesday, 13th November 2019, where he posted a series of tweets, demanded that Burna Boy apologises for the statement he made a few months ago during the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

When AKA and Burna Boy had their war of words on Twitter when the heat of xenophobia was hot, StarBoy Wizkid stepped in to tell the artistes to let love lead.

AKA then referred to Wizkid’s tweet, asking Burna Boy to show leadership by apologising if he wants to come to the concert as scheduled.

He, however, went as far as responding to tweets from Twitter users who felt he was going too far with this “apology thing”.

On Tuesday night, 3rd September 2019, Burna Boy took over his Twitter account, to air his views about the raging xenophobic attacks.

In one of his several tweets, Burna Boy threatened to deal with the South African rapper when next their paths crossed.

He wrote,

And @akaworldwide I knew you were retarded but I didn’t know it had gotten this bad. Next time I see you you better have a big security bro, On Gambos Grave ur gonna need it.”

Now that Burna Boy will step on South African soil, will it be okay that he simply tenders an apology to AKA for the sake of peace and in the light of promoting the concept of what the concert stands for?
