Actress Olivia Newton-John Passes on at 73

According to a statement from her husband, Australian singer Olivia Newton-John passed away on Monday.

Her innocent beauty and breathy voice made her one of the biggest music singers of the 1970s and she delighted generations of fans in the hit movie “Grease.” She was 73.

John Travolta just posted about Olivia’s passing, saying,

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!

John Easterling, Olivia’s husband, claims that she passed away quietly on Monday morning at her ranch in Southern California, surrounded by her loved ones.

Although the cause of death was not specified, a source close to Olivia informed TMZ that she had lost her fight with metastatic b****t cancer after fighting the disease for more than 30 years.

Olivia Newton-John hit it big in 1971 with songs like “If Not for You,” and in 1973 “Let Me Be There.” She followed that up with a monster hit, “Have You Never Been Mellow.”

When she starred in “Grease” with John Travolta, she received a major break. Numerous songs from the film,

including “You’re the One That I Want,” “Summer Nights,” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” were also classics because to her performance as Sandy.

Olivia was catapulted to new heights by the film, and she followed it up with films like “Xanadu.”

Olivia’s biggest hit in 1981 was “Physical,” which broke all records in the 1980s by remaining at #1 for 10 weeks. Throughout her career, she continued to advocate for the environment and animal rights.

In 1992, Olivia Newton-John received a diagnosis of b****t cancer; however, it went into remission and returned in 2013. After returning to remission, it reappeared in 2017.
