Actors Ashton Kutcher and his wife Mila Kunis are not for regular soaping.

The couple revealed in an interview that they only bathe their kids when they could “visibly see the dirt on them”.

“When I had children, I also didn’t wash them every day,” Kunis, 37, said on Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s “Armchair Expert” podcast. “I wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns — ever.”

Kutcher, 43, added “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point”

Their freehand policy is not too far from what Mayo Clinic suggests; that infants be bathed only three times a week until they become mobile.

However the couple did not share if their bathing practices have changed as their children — Wyatt Isabelle, 6, and Dimitri Portwood, 4 — have grown.

Responding to the host’s statement that people shouldn’t be scrubbing off their natural body oils every day with soap, Kunis said;

“I didn’t have hot water growing up as a child, so I didn’t shower much anyway,” said Kunis. She spent her first seven years in the western Ukraine city of Chernivtsi.

Kutcher, though born in America’s Iowa, doesn’t care much for bathing either.

“I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever. I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time.”

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis began dating in 2012 even though they’d known themselves 14 years before. They met on set of the 1998 TV show “That ’70s Show”, where they starred as lovers.

Kutcher married actress Demi Moore in 2005 but they split in 2011 and finalised their divorce in 2013. He and Kunis tied the knot in 2015 a year after they welcomed their first child, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher.

Considering their collective aversion to baths, safe to say they’re a match made in heaven.
