Apple has to recall some MacBook Pro models because of issues with overheating batteries. The company made this known yesterday, 20th June 2019. The recall affects MacBook Pro laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017.

The California-based tech giant said in a statement that the batteries of the laptops may overheat and pose a safety risk. They are now asking customers to stop using the affected computers. According to them, the problem affects the 15-inch version of the older MacBook Pros.

Apple now says it will replace the batteries in the affected MacBook Pro models at no cost. They said, “Apple has determined that, in a limited number of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro units, the battery may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.”

This is the second time Apple will be recalling a product this year. Earlier in April 2019, the tech giants recalled some international use wall plug adapters. The recall was done on grounds that the adapters could create a risk of electrical shock.

Apple has constantly announced less critical replacement moves for batteries and storage drives in the 13-inch MacBook Pros. However, like the April recall, the company signalled this one as an important issue.

The tech giant also confirmed recently that some of its newer laptops have problems with their keyboards. However, it took measures to offer free service program to impacted customers.
